Next day we started towards Kargil passing by the beautiful Sonamarg Hill Station.
Through the Zojila pass:
Zojila Pass (also know as Zojila or Zoji La) is one of the important mountain passes in India. To drive this trail, you must have supreme confidence in your vehicle and your driving skills.
We got stuck in the muddy road for about 4 hours creating traffic block, when one Punjabi lorry driver Mr Ashwini Kumar offered us a helping hand. He asked two of us(Myself and Aj) to stay in the third row of the car and others to stay outside to get the grip and keep going. His driving skills and experience helped us to survive that stretch of risky road.
We thanked him and continued our journey towards Kargil and had a pleasant stay at a lodge in Kargil. But have missed Drass War Memorial, Kargil due to the delay we have faced at the pass.
The next day on our way to Leh, we managed to take a few shots of Kargil and also fix a few flat-tyres.
The ``Magnetic Hill'' located on the Leh-Kargil-Batalik national highway, shows the gravity defying properties while driving. The phenomenon makes vehicles to move uphill without acceleration while going downhill vehicle needs to be accelerated.
